GUWAHATI, Dec 15 - The 39th edition of the All Assam Inter District Chess Championship 2015 Open category is all set to begin at Diphu Club, Karbi Anglong from tomorrow.

Players from all the affiliated districts, special units and academies will vie for securing a berth in the State team from this tournament. The top four position winners from this official tournament will represent Assam at the National Challenger Chess Championship 2016.

The tournament is being organised by the Karbi Anglong Chess Association on behalf of the All Assam Chess Association Adhoc Committee. Altogether 10 rounds in Swiss league format under classical time control will be held in the event which will come to an end on December 22.

The tournament will be inaugurated by Roop Singh Teron, Executive Member, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in presence of the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Karbi Anglong.
