GUWAHATI, Aug 26 - BJP�s national general secretary BL Santosh today began a three-day tour to Assam during which he will hold a series of meetings as part of the party�s preparation for the upcoming assembly elections.
In the morning, the party general secretary participated in the core committee meeting of the State unit, which was attended by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma, State unit president Ranjit Dass and other senior leaders. The meeting dwelt on the current political scene and party�s organizational issues.
Another meeting was later held at the party�s state headquarters.
Santosh also held discussions with the party�s media team.
Tomorrow, Santosh is scheduled to meet heads of all morchas and different wings of the state unit and take stock of the preparedness for the elections.
�The meetings are crucial to strengthen the organization ahead of the elections,� party spokesman Rupam Goswami said.
