GUWAHATI, May 7 - High jumper Laimwn Narzary and long distance runner Abhishek Pal won gold medals for Assam in the 14th Federation Cup National Junior Athletic Championship held at Bangalore from May 3 to 5.

The 12-member Assam team won four medals in the championship, including a silver and a bronze apart from two gold.

Laimwn cleared 1.67 metres for her gold while Abhishek took 30:42.22 minutes for winning the boys 10,000m gold. Abhishek also bagged a sliver medal in 5000m completing the distance in 14:47.84 minutes. Runjun Pegu was the other medal winning Assam athlete who walked away with a bronze medal in girls javelin throw clearing a distance of 42.22 metres.
