State archers win medals

GUWAHATI, Jan 4 - Assam won five medals in the ongoing NRAT archery championship at Shillong.

On the second day of the four-day meet, Himani Boro and Manashjyoti Changmai struck gold medals in the junior recurve and junior compound categories. Manashjyoti also won a silver medal in the sub junior compound competition.

Other medal winners were-Mukesh Boro (bronze in recurve sub junior) and Satbir Kaur (bronze in senior group).

The archery Federation of India rewarded Assam coach Sumesh Chandra Roy with a purse of Rs 1.25 lakh for his contribution.
