GUWAHATI, Aug 5 - Representatives of different hospitals of the State in a meeting convened at the GNRC Hospitals here agreed to form the Assam State chapter of the Association of the Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI).
The AHPI is an all-India body which seeks to act as a facilitator between the Government and health establishments and also between the public and the health establishments.
This body will take up issues facing health establishments, work towards enhancing quality and patient safety, create awareness among the general population and also undertake activities to improve the knowledge and skills of medical, nursing and paramedical professionals.
Dr Nomal Chandra Borah, CMD, GNRC Hospitals, was unanimously selected as the president of the body and Dr Hitesh Baruah, CMD, Nemcare Hospital, as the secretary.
