State Agriculture Director interacts with farmers

MORIGAON, Jan 2 - MS Manivannan, Director, Agriculture, Government of Assam paid an official visit to Morigaon district recently. He visited Ilamoni Bora�s fruit and vegetable processing unit, namely, Trinayan Gramin Udyog Ltd located at Jagi village. The Agriculture Director later visited Sonai FPO office located at Morigaon town. He�was accompanied by Ajit Nath, District Agriculture Officer, Morigaon, Dr Rijusmita Sarma Deka, Head of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Morigaon. They also� met the flood-affected�farmers under Gerua ADO circle. A series of� meetings and� interaction sessions with the farmers were organised at Barpathar village where more than 200 farmers took part. Farmers also put forward various problems faced by them related to marketing resulting in minimum return, problems related� to value addition and different crop-related problems faced by them in the field.

During the interaction with the farmers, Director Agriculture� offered� some valuable suggestions and appealed to the farmers to avail the ongoing schemes introduced by the State and the Central Governments.
