Stage set for Mr Saraighat meet

GUWAHATI, March 4 � The 26th DS Group Mr Saraighat RG Baruah Memorial All India Classic Bodybuilding Championship will be held at the ITA Centre here on March 8.

Explaining about the championship in a press conference here today, the organising secretary Bhabajyoti Goswami said the championship will be organised as per the guidelines of Indian Body Builders Federation. Top bodybuilders of international and national level have been invited to take part in the meet. The title winners will become richer by Rs 1 lakh while the second and third position holders will be given away Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Cash awards will be handed over to top 10 position holders, informed Goswami.

A Boby Singh, Dipankar Saikia, Robi Meitei, Sashanka Sharma, Deepjyoti Phukan, Sumit Kumar Saikia Subhadip Baidya, Dipu Dutta and Khiprajit Hazarika have been selected to represent the Assam team in the coveted championship.

Organising body chairman Paramesh Dutta and official Tapan Baishya were also present in the press meet.
