GUWAHATI, Dec 25 - The 39th All Assam Inter District Chess Championship (Age Group) is all set to begin from December 27 here.
The tournament which is being organised by the All Assam Chess Association (Adhoc Committee) is the official State team selection event from which top 2 players (boys and girls) from each of the age groups of U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17, U-19 will be selected to represent Assam in the respective national championships. Competitions will be conducted for women and veteran players too. A total prize fund of Rs 1,00,000 will be at stake in the championship where about 300 participants have already registered their names.
The venue has been shifted from Royal Global School to Terapanth Bhawan, Fancy Bazar here, stated a release.
