Sree Sundarmal School champs

SIVASAGAR, May 2 � Sree Sundamal Modern School emerged champions in the 21st AP Rao -Khireswar Dutta Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament defeating DPS Nazira in the final by 5 wickets here at Piyoli Phukan Stadium.

The championship was organised by Zangam in association with Sivasagar Sports Association.

DPS scored 107 all out in 32.4 overs. Harpal Saikia (25), Rishi Agarwal (16) and Swaraj Bhattacharjee (16 n.o) were their main contributors. Pramod Sahu (3/18) and Karimulla Hussain (2/18) were the leading wicket-takers for Sundarmal.

In reply, Sundarmal reached the target (108/5) in 24.1 overs. Karimulla Hussain with 34 and Imran Khan with 23 remained unbeaten. Ayush Sharma was their other notable contributor with 25. Harpal Saikia took 2/18.

The individual prize winners were: Best batsman-Harpal Saikia, best bowler-Pramod Sahu, best fielder-Rohit Gupta and MOM in final-Karimulla Hussain.

In the closing ceremony, anchored by Manoj Bhagawati, the prizes were distributed by PR Mili, Amanul Hauk, Binod Chaudhury, Sanjeev Sharma, SK Sharma, Tapan Dutta, Haren Dwarah and Somesh Deka.
