GUWAHATI, Dec 9 - The Assam Police Special Branch has directed the police superintendents of all the districts to review and if required, enhance the security cover for Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
�If required, the SPs concerned may enhance the security cover,� a top Assam Police official said, adding, the present security cover of Sarma (who has Z category security cover now) is also being reviewed.
This comes close on the heels of the arrest of two persons, who were believed to be plotting the murder of the senior minister.
Meanwhile, a team led by ASP Nabaneet Mahanta has been formed to probe the case and verify the antecedents of the arrested duo.
