Sports varsity announces first BPEd (Hons) course

DIBRUGARH, Sept 18 - Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University today announced its first four-year undergraduate programme in Physical Education BPEd (Honours).

Professor JP Verma, the Vice-Chancellor of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, formally announced the opening of the BPEd course as per the New Education Policy, 2020 with multiple exit options from the academic year 2020-21, during a press conference held here today.

The Vice-Chancellor said the complete four-year BPEd (Honours) is an undergraduate professional programme in Physical Education with a research thesis. �During the study, the students will have the option to exit after completing one, two or three years of education with a Certificate in PE, Diploma in PE or Bachelors in PE respectively. This programme in Physical Education will also prepare the students for a career in Physical Education and related professions such as work in schools, sports administration, fitness and health clubs, law enforcement, yoga centres, hospitality industry, etc.,� he explained.

Professor Verma further announced that given the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the selection of students will be done through the online admission process.
