SILCHAR, Jan 5 - Sports Minister Ajit Singh today released the fixture for the 3rd State Games beginning at the SM Dev stadium of DSA Silchar on January 7.
Among the 25 events to be played in the six day mega sports event, archery, badminton basketball, fencing, football, karate, hockey, kabaddi and netball will kick start on the opening day.
Seeking cooperation from all to make the State Games a memorable one, Ajit Singh said buses have been arranged for transportation of players between Silchar and Guwahati and vice versa during the event. Also, he inaugurated the media centre at the first floor of the SM Dev Cricket pavilion to facilitate quick exchange of information to the press about the proceedings of the events. Badal Dey, president, DSA Silchar, Babul Hore, secretary, DSA Silchar, Tarimur Raja Choudhury, chairman of Media sub committee, Nilotpal Choudhury, chairman, publicity subcommittee and conveners of other sub committees were present during the fixture release ceremony.
