Sporadic violence in poll-bound Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 6 - Sporadic incidents of poll-related clashes are increasing in Kokrajhar district, where the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections will be held on December 10 in 12 constituencies, with various political parties as well as independent candidates opening booths in various places and roadside locations.

In order to keep the situation under control, the district administration has imposed several restrictions in the poll-bound areas. Seventy-seven candidates being in the fray in those constituencies.

The first phase of the poll will be held tomorrow.

In the last three BTC elections, tough fights had taken place between the BPF led by Hagrama Mohilary and the UPPL led by UG Brahma. However, the BPF could make a clean sweep every
