GUWAHATI, July 24 - With a view to clearing extra rush of passengers during the summer holiday season, the Northeast Frontier Railway has started services of some long-distance as well as local trains.
NFR PRO Nripen Bhattacharya said that a weekly Suvidha Special in the Kamakhya-Pune-Kamakhya section has been started.
Train No 82506 will depart from Kamakhya at 11 pm on July 25, August 1, August 8, August 15, August 22, August 29, September 5, September 12, September 19 and September 26, while train No 82505 will depart from Pune at 10.30 am on July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18, August 25, September 1, September 8, September 15, September 22 and September 29.
The train will halt at New Bongaigaon, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Asansol, Rourkela, Bilaspur, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusawal and Nashik, among other places. It consists of one AC-2 Tier, two AC-3 Tier, eight Sleeper Class, one General Second Class and two SLR/SLRD coaches.
Another special train has been started in the Guwahati-Kochuveli-Guwahati section, Bhattacharya said.
Train No 06335 will depart from Guwahati at 11.25 pm on July 27 and August 3, while train No 06336 will depart from Kochuveli at 12 noon on July 31.
The train will have 18 sleeper and two SLR/SLRD coaches and it will halt at Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Asansol, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, Vijaywada, Katpadi, Thrisur, Ernakulam Town and Kollam.
NFR has also started operating a passenger special train between Silchar and Kumarghat on an experimental basis.
The 05678/05677 is being run six days a week, except Sundays, and its services will continue till September 30, said Bhattacharya. The train has six general second class coaches and one SLR coach.
NFR has also started special trains in the Rangapara North-Rangiya-Rangapara North and Rangiya-Murkongselek-Rangiya sections.
The 05594/05593 Rangapara North-Rangiya-Rangapara North Passenger Special and the 05595/05596 Rangiya-Murkongselek-Rangiya Passenger Special are being run from each direction on alternate days and their services will continue till the end of this month.
