GUWAHATI, April 21 The Special Team constituted by the Kamrup Metro district administration to check compliance of schools with Supreme Court guidelines and RTE provisions inspected two schools in the city today.

The team visited Little Flower School at Hatigaon, said an official statement.

It said that the Transport department officials seized four school buses and 13 vans used by the school for ferrying students, due to non-adherence to safety norms.

The school was also not able to furnish fitness certificate and was also found lacking in fire safety norms.

The team directed the school authorities to furnish the relevant details at the earliest.

It also looked into other aspects like infrastructure of the school, qualification of teachers and salary structure of staff.

The team also visited Albert English School at Panbazar and found that the institution was located in the middle of a business area, besides having other discrepancies.

The school was directed to shift to another location, attach the students to another school or close down, said the statement.
