NAGAON, March 27 - A total of 1039 Person With Disability (PWD) voters in Nagaon parliamentary constituency and a total of 2082 PWD voters in Kaliabor parliamentary constituency will exercise their franchise this time in Lok Sabha polls in the first and second phase of the election respectively.
According to sources, the district election authority has already made available various life support machinery tools like wheelchairs, ramps and other viable uplifting system at almost all concerned polling stations where these physically challenged voters will cast their vote this time. The sources told here that out of nine LACs of Nagaon parliamentary constituency the figures of those PWD voters are Raha 15, Jagiroad 114, Morigaon 134, Lahorighat 347, Nagaon 158, Barhampur 7, Jamunamukh 84, Hojai 139 and in Lumding 41.
On the other hand, in Kaliabor parliamentary constituency the figures of these PWD voters in 10 LACs are Dhing 17, Batradrova 274, Rupahihat 72, Samaguri 9, Kaliabor 572, Bokakhat 260, Sarupathar 581, Golaghat 105, Khumtai 101 and in Dergaon LAC 91. The sources added that for free and fair conduct of the LS polls in both constituencies, the district election authority has already enforced or kept in readiness a total of 21 teams of Flying Squad, 21 Static Surveillance teams and other 21 teams of Video Surveillance teams in both constituencies so far.
Meanwhile, all the nomination papers submitted for Nagaon and Kaliabor parliamentary constituencies, were examined by the district election authority today and one nomination paper submitted by one Gulapi Saikia of Voters� Party International for Nagaon seat has been cancelled.
