Spl Aadhaar arrangement for scribes, families

By City Correspondent

GUWAHATI, Dec 29 - City-based journalists will get an opportunity to enrol their names in Aadhaar at the city centre adjacent to the Guwahati Press Club for five days starting from the first day of 2019.

Interested mediapersons and their families may come to the centre at the office of the Assistant Director of Handloom and Textiles, Ambari during office hours for enrolling their names in the Unique Identification Number process.

It may be noted that the Union government has proposed this Unique Identification Number for the citizens of India that would act as an identity. Aadhaar has a 12-digit identification number that is allotted to the Indian citizens, which is unique to the holder.

The participants are requested to carry their PAN or any government ID cards, ration cards, driving licences, passports and electricity-water-landline telephone bills for the last three months.

The Guwahati Press Club has hailed the initiative of Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner VK Mittal, Additional DC Gunajeet Kashyap and Public Relation Officer Ratan Saud and hoped that the media fraternity would come forward to take advantage of the exclusive arrangement.
