GUWAHATI, April 20 - The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19, will penalise people with a fine of Rs 1,000 for spitting and urinating in public places.
The move by the GMC came in compliance with the recent directives issued by the Central government which made spitting in public places a punishable offence.
The GMC through a notification has prohibited spitting and urinating in public places by any person with immediate effect.
