Speech, singing competitions

GUWAHATI, June 7 - NRL Exocon, a registered society of past and presently serving officers of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) as well as ex-officers of NRL presently working in other public sector hydrocarbon industry, organised a programme at Guwahati Blind High School, Basistha on June 5, according to a press release issued here today.

The visually impaired students of the school enthusiastically participated in a speech competition on the topic �Importance of conserving the ecology & environment� held on the occasion. This was followed by a singing competition where a number of talented students participated.

NRL Exocon sponsored cash awards for the participants of both the events and distributed sweet packets amongst the students and staff of the school. It also presented the school with Braille paper rolls and a Godrej almirah for storage of important documents and other essential items.

The members of NRL Exocon and their families freely interacted with the students and were amazed at their enthusiasm to learn and overcome the challenges of visual impairment, the release added.
