Special status

GUWAHATI, March 5 � The Assam Legislative Assembly today unanimously passed and adopted a resolution that the State Government would move the authorities concerned in the Government of India to continue the special category status for the state of Assam so as to ensure that the pattern of Central assistance to Assam shall be either 100 per cent Central share or on the principle of 90 per cent Central share and 10 per cent state share. Minister Rockybul Hussain had earlier moved the resolution on behalf of the State Government.
