Special attention being paid to NE: Harsimrat

GANGTOK, May 27 � Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal has reiterated that the Union Government is paying special attention to the North East through its Act East Policy.

Addressing a press conference after inaugurating a photo exhibition entitled �Saal Ek Shuruaat Anek� organised by DAVP here today, the Minister said the Centre has allocated Rs 53,000 crore for development of NE States in the Union Budget including scholarship schemes for students and proposal to set up six agricultural universities and upgradation of power transmission in the region with the sanction of Rs10,000 crore.
