GUWAHATI, May 10 - In an expression of solidarity, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Hitendra Nath Goswami today contributed Rs 1,50,000 to the Chief Minister�s Relief Fund.
He handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the latter�s official residence at the Brahmaputra State Guest House here today.
The Speaker also contributed Rs 1 lakh to the PM CARES and handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister.
The Speaker also handed over cheques that he received during his last visit to Jorhat from different individuals and organisations to the Chief Minister as contributions to the Assam Arogya Nidhi. The Chief Minister thanked the Speaker for his benevolence in the prevailing situation.
