GUWAHATI, April 10 � Kolkata outfit Southern Samity lead the table with 10 points from four outings in Group A of the 2nd Division National League.

In their third match of the championship at the Nehru Stadium here this morning, Southern Samity edged past Golden Thread 1-0. The match winning goal was netted by Edmilson through a spot kick in the 41st minute. Edmilson was brought down inside the box by a Golden Thread defender and a penalty was awarded in favour of the Kolkata brigade.

In the second match at the Nehru Stadium, Langsning Sports Club, Shillong posted a 1-0 victory against North Imphal Sports Association by the barest of margin. R Lalnundanga netted the all important goal in the 61st minute of the match.

At SAI ground this afternoon, Baichung Bhutia owned United Sikkim outplayed Simla Youngs by a clear margin of 2-0 goals. Budhuram Tudu scored both the goals in the 62nd and 76th minutes after a dry first session. With today�s win, the Sikkim team has collected seven points from four matches and placed second in the seven team group.
