GUWAHATI, March 14 - South Point School emerged Head Quarter Zone champions in the Assam Cricket Association�s Pulin Das Memorial School Cricket Tournament.
In the final played at the Latasil playground here today, South Point posted a thumping 91-run victory against Nichols HS School. The Head Quarter Zone was organised by the Guwahati Sports Association.
Opting to bat first South Point amassed 210 for six in the allotted 25 overs where Arnab Bora (53), Wasim Sanil Saikia (45) and Hriday Raj Choudhury (41) were the leading contributors. Chasing the imposing target Nichols boys could score 119 for nine.
In the closing function ACA secretary Devajit Saikia, GSA president Munin Nobis, cricket secretary Bablu Choudhury, sports organiser Kalyan Kr Das, former Ranji cricketer Vinod Sharma among others were present as guests.
