South Point, Fairyland in semis

GUWAHATI, June 10 - South Point School and Fairyland High School made it to the last-four stage of the 12th Dhan Sena Sinha All Assam Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the River Rine Cricket Coaching Academy.

In two quarterfinal matches of the championship, played at the Latasil playground here today, South Point prevailed over Gurunanak High School by 15 runs while Fairyland posted a four-wicket victory against Delhi Public School.

It was Erik Roy who played a vital role in South Point�s victory taking four wickets for 18 after scoring 22. In reply to South Point�s 138 in 20 overs, Gurunanak were all out for 123.

In the low scoring third quarterfinal, DPS were all out for 68 and in reply Fairyland took 14.2 overs for crossing the opponent�s total.

Brief scores: South Point 138/9 (Biswajeet Sharma 39, Erik Roy 22, Himjyoti Sarma not out 19, Parvez Musharaf 3/31, Taufik Alam 2/20, Vicky Ali 2/26). Gurunanak 123 (Jitu Ali 22, Rahul Mandal 19, Erik Roy 4/18, Riyan Parag 3/19, Himjyoti Sarma 2/18).

DPS 68 (Rituraj Biswas 29, Dhananjay Paswan 3/15, Kousar Ali 2/13). Fairyland 70/6 (Rubul Chetri 17, Angajudit Gogoi 3/7, Hrishikesh Das 2/12, Projoy Choudhury 1/15).
