GUWAHATI, May 18 � Sony SIX, India�s premier sports and entertainment channel has acquired the rights to telecast the 2015 edition of Copa America live in South Asia.
The tournament serves as the international football championship for South America and is organized every four years by the CONMEBOL, the governing body for the sport in the continent. This year�s tournament will be held in Chile from June 11 to July 4 and will be telecast on Sony SIX and Sony KIX.
The Copa Am�rica is one of the most prestigious and widely followed sporting events in the world, due, in large part, to the participation from football superpowers such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay among others.
This year's event will be the tourney's 44th year in competition and will feature twelve teams, including the ten members of CONMEBOL and two guest sides from North America � Mexico and Jamaica, stated a release issued here today.
