Sonowal vows to develop Madhupur Satra

GUWAHATI, Dec 17 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that his government will take steps to solve all problems of Madhupur Satra, located in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, and prepare a master plan to develop it as an �epicentre of cultural tourism.�

Undertaking his maiden visit to the Satra after becoming the Chief Minister, Sonowal, on behalf of the people of Assam, offered his worship and prayed for the welfare of all sections of the people. Sonowal, along with DCs and SPs of Dhubri and Cooch Behar districts, inspected the Satra premises and vowed to preserve its sanctity. He asked them to draw a roadmap for its development as a seat of Vaishnavite culture. He also asked the DCs to ensure adequate lighting, plantation, etc, in and around the Satra.
