DIBRUGARH, Aug 20 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to complete the main structure of the multi-sports complex at Khanikar here by February next.
Reviewing the construction of the ongoing project today, Sonowal who visited the project site, asked the department officials concerned to make optimum use of the working period to carry forward the construction activities in three separate shifts for completion of the same at the set deadline. It is pertinent to mention that the multipurpose stadium is expected to have infrastructure for swimming pool, indoor stadium, practice ground, athletic track etc.
During the inspection of the site, Sonowal was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Food Processing Rameswar Teli and MLAs Prasanta Phukan, Rituparna Baruah, Vinod Hazarika and several other officials.
Among other programmes, Sonowal also took part in a programme at Auniati Sakha Satra, Lakhinagar near here, in keeping with the Tithi of Srimanta Sankaradeva.
