Sonowal, Himanta have no courage to protest against CAB: Gogoi

By ANN Service

RAHA, April 16 - Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday challenged Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the BJP-led State government to protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill and throw out Bangladeshis from Assam if they could while addressing a huge Congress party election rally at Raha for Nagaon Lok Sabha seat candidate Pradyut Bordoloi.

I doubt whether Sarbananda is a Chief Minister or just a puppet? If Sonowal has the courage then he should throw out Bangladeshis from Assam. Why has he no courage to protest against CAB if he loves Assam?, Gogoi asked.

Drawing the AIIMS issue in his speech Gogoi said, We proposed AIIMS at Raha and not in Changsari. It was the Sonowal and Himanta-led BJP government which shifted AIIMS location to Changsari from Raha.

While slamming the BJP Government, Gogoi said, Earlier there was massive change of mindset among the people in Assam. Now our people have realised that the promises made by PM Narendra Modi in his previous elections campaigns were fake. This time Modi is also lying in his election campaigns. Though PM Modi is making serious attempts to replace democracy with his dictatorship rule, Congress will fight against this.
