SILAPATHAR, May 25 � A serious allegation has been raised against Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council for irregular distribution of distributed items of Autonomous Council at Silapathar and its adjoining area.
According to allegation, the general member of Jonai of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council, Jiten Hazarika suddenly turnet up at Silapathar on May 8 with items of council for distribution among the public. The general member brought items of council like 35 bundles of GIC sheets for 35 beneficiries, 150 bundles of tread, 35 footballs, three cheques of 15 thousand each for three SHGs, one cheque of Rs 25,000 for Silagaon without preparation of list in the Autonomous Council.
The student organisation of Sonowal Kachari and members of Sonowal Kachari also alleged that the distribution items of council had been brought only for the purpose of forthcoming council polls of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council. Moreover the items of council were distributed depraving the needy, poor and below poverty line (BPL) families of Sonowal Kachari.
Despite this the distribution items were distributed in a house of a teacher instead of public places, the public alleged.
In this regard, around three-hundred needy, poor and BPL families of Sonowal Kachari including women filed a case at Silapathar Police Station on May 10 against the general member of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council, Jiten Hazarika to investigate the matter. Police registered a case against the person.
