Sonowal confident of forming Govt

TEZPUR, May 8 - Claiming that the BJP will form the new government in the State, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and State party president, Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday thanked the people of Assam for having faith in them.

Sonowal assured the people that MLAs from every LAC will work for the betterment of the society and address development-related issues. He also thanked the people for responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s appeal to stand against the corruption perpetrated by the Congress party in past 15 years in the State

The BJP�s State president was addressing a post-poll party meeting at Ketekibari, Tezpur. He added that the BJP-led Government in the State would lay stress on the good governance and proper development.

While addressing the party workers, Tezpur MP, RP Sharma, also claimed that the BJP will form the Government in the State. �Development works for 3.30 crore people of Assam, employment generation etc., will be our prime duty,� he said, adding that the BJP will take a special measure to check rampant corruption.

Claiming that the BJP is the party with highest number of members in the world, RP Sharma said that there are 28 lakhs party members in Assam.

MP Rameswar Teli criticised two particular local news channels and alleged that during the pre-poll period, he was attacked with bias reporting to malign his image among the voters.

The meeting held under the presidentship of Sonitpur district BJP president Mrinal Saikia. The meeting was also attended by State observer Mahendra Singh, State organising secretary Phani Sharma, State secretary Diganta Ghatwar, spokesperson Ritubaran Sharma, among others.
