Sonowal addresses poll rally at Dipila

By Correspondent

MANGALDAI, April 13 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal yet again asserted that what Modi has done much more for the people of Assam in five years than that done by the Congress in 70 years. Addressing an election rally at Dipila village in Sipajhar LAC of Darrang district in favour of Dilip Saikia, the Mangaldoi Lok Sabha candidate for BJP and its allies, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers the people of Assam and the North East to be very close to his heart. What he has done in last five years for the people of Assam and North East couldnt be done by Congress even in seventy years. Lambasting the Congress, he said, Congress means corruption, Congress means misrule and Congress means harassment.

Addressing the people of Dipila which was once considered to be the hotbed of the Assam Agitation, Sonowal underlined the issue of CAB as nothing but the misinterpretation created by the Congress for its own benefit and recalled the speech of Prime Minister Modi in his recent visit that the CAB will be passed ensuring safeguards and the interest of the people of the area. The rally attended by a relatively small crowd of around 1,500 was also addressed by candidate Dilip Saikia and the two BJP MLAs of the district Binanda Saikia and Gurujyoti Das among others. Earlier, Sonowal arrived at the venue at the venue in a chopper at around 1.30 pm. He is scheduled to address another rally on Sunday at Bongali Gaon under Rowta Police Station bordering Darrang and Udalguri districts.
