TEZPUR, Nov 27 - Coming down heavily on the vicious stand against the proposed Patanjali Mega Herbal and Food Park at Ghoramari AIDC complex near Balipara in Sonitpur by the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samittee (KMSS), the Sonitpur district committee of BJP on Saturday warned the peasant body not to go against a developmental venture like the proposed Ghoramari Patanjali Project.
It is to be mentioned here that few days back, KMSS opposed the proposed project pointing out that the project is not in the interest of the local people, but only in the interest of the anti-Assamese elements like Ramdev. Moreover, besides this the peasant body has been raising question marks over the recent incident of the death of a wild elephant falling into one of the trenches dug for the construction work of the big budget project.
However, vehemently criticising the superfluous stand of the KMSS against the project, the Sonitpur district unit of saffron party in a press meet in their office premises on Saturday said that a section of unscrupulous elements and a motivated organisation like the KMSS is illogically standing against a prosperous scheme like the Ghoramari Patanjali Herbal and Food Park, thereby showing their destructive attitude which is very unfortunate.
Sonitpur District Committee BJP chief Mrinal Saikia addressing the press meet said, It is very sad for us that due to the trench in the construction site the wild elephant died, for which the Patanjali authority must be blamed as before digging of the trench they should have taken precautionary measures as it was known to them that it is a wild elephant zone, but as claimed by the KMSS, it does not mean that the project having a large scale opportunity of employment generation for the region should not come up. It is nothing but destructive attitude of those anti-people elements. Saikia said warning the peasant body to stop their stand against the project.
He also said that instead of solving the entire issue in an amicable environment, some sections with vested interest have been seen trying to politicise the issue. Condemning vehemently the allegation against the Yog Guru Baba Ramdeva, labelled an unlawful person by the KMSS, Saikia also said that a professional protest organisation like the KMSS has no right to speak against the people-oriented project that is supposed to be come up very shortly in the area. An internationally acclaimed person like Baba Ramdev who has acquired popularity across the nation can never go against the people, as the negative-minded cadres of the KMSS believe.
He further said that the Ghoramari AIDC complex came into being in 1995 with great contributions from the local people but, due to various reasons it has remained a useless spot. With a dream of turning the area into a frontline industrial area an internationally acclaimed agency like Patanjali has come up to invest in the area. It is a very welcome step which should be appreciated by all irrespective of party affiliations, he maintained.
