JAMUGURIHAT, March 7 � In the backdrop of the ongoing birth centenary celebration of Sonitkonwar Gajen Boruah, the doyen of Assamese art and culture and a worthy son of Jamugurihat, the Government of Assam has agreed to name a road in Jamugurihat in his name. Accordingly the link road of NH52 between Madhab to Kusumtola via Barhampur, Sarubhagia will be named after him. For this 2.6 km road, an amount of Rs 27 lakhs has been sanctioned and the repair work will start very soon followed by the construction of the road, said Padma Hazarika, working president of the Sonitkonwar Gajen Boruah Birth Centenary Celebration Committee.
