Sonapur hospital doctors, nurses, employees feted

By CORRESPONDENT

JORABAT, April 8 - The novel coronavirus pandemic has claimed thousands of lives, shaken governments and hit the markets hard. It has, however, failed to crush the indomitable spirit of the brave frontline workers.

Similar is the case with the Sonapur District Hospital, where the frontline workers doctors, nurses and other staff have been working at unearthly hours and in conditions of extreme risk to keep the citizens safe.

It may be mentioned that the Sonapur district hospital has been treating three COVID-19 patients since April 1.

The hospital Superintendent Dr Ulupi Phukan Baruah appreciated the doctors, nurses and other staff who have been on-duty since April 1 and felicitated them.

Dr Dhiraj Kr Pathak, Dr PP Das, Dr PA Ahmed, staff nurses Parchia Begum, Queen Baishya, Karabi Bezbarua, Karabi Buragohain, lab technicians Mintu Ahmed and Jayanta Barman, and other workers were among the first batch.

The new incoming team also joined the felicitation and cheered to appreciate the service rendered by the outgoing staff. It may be mentioned that the outgoing team will be kept under quarantine for 14 days at the city hotel Taj Vivanta.
