SHILLONG, June 6 � A mentally challenged person yesterday hacked his mother to death at a remote village in Mairang, West Khasi Hills.
According to police, the son, Puphlinshon K Thangmaw (30) attacked his 70-year-old mother inside the house at Laitertad village with a machete and killed her. The village falls under Mairang sub-division, some 60 kms from the State capital.
Thangmaw has been arrested and sent to the Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience here.
