GUWAHATI, Aug 26 - Soon after the news of the arrest of Indrani Mukherjea, former CEO of INX India, broke out, Mikhail, brother of Sheena Bora who was allegedly murdered by her mother, added to the mystery stating that �Sheena was my sister and her (Indrani�s) daughter. If my mother does not confess to the crime during police questioning, I will spill the beans before the investigators and media�.
�She could be the murderer. If she does not confess within the custody period (August 30), I will produce the evidence,� he told media-persons here today.
Indrani Mukherjea, wife of former Star India CEO Peter Mukherjea, was arrested on Tuesday by Mumbai Police upon confession made by her driver that he had killed Sheena at the instance of her employer (Indrani). It is believed that a team of Mumbai Police might visit Guwahati or may even summon Mikhail in connection with the murder.
Both Mikhail (who used to work with a private airline till recently) and Sheena were introduced by Indrani to her husband Peter Mukherjea as her siblings. Before getting married to Peter, Indrani had two children (Mikhail and Sheena) from an earlier relationship which she did not disclose to her husband.
The whereabouts of Sheena was not known since 2012 and when enquired, Indrani had reportedly said that she has gone to the US and is settled there.
�I had asked her about my sister�s whereabouts but she always came up with vague answers. All was not well between them (Sheena and Indrani),� Mikhail told newsmen here in Guwahati.
Both Mikhail and his sister Sheena were brought up by her maternal grandparents in Guwahati and had never known their biological father.
He also said that he was around three months old when his mother left him and his sister only to be raised by their grandparents in Guwahati�s Sundarpur area. Indrani was married to Peter, a media tycoon, in 2002.
�What should I say? My sister has been murdered and I need justice,� Mikhail said while talking to this correspondent.
Although the reason behind the murder is not yet known, it is suspected that Sheena had an affair with Peter Mukherjea�s son (from his first wife), a relationship which Indrani did not approve of.
Mikhail also said that Indrani used to send money for them till recently.
