GUWAHATI, Nov 1 - Coming out in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today said that some forces are trying to incite people of the State with a view to create anarchy by disseminating false information regarding the Bill.
Simanta Das, secretary of ABVP Assam Pradesh, said that while the Central government has formulated the Bill to provide shelter to minorities, including Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and Sikhs of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in India, it has never said that only Assam will have to bear the burden of such people.
ABVP alleged that a deliberate attempt is being made by certain forces to incite the people and create disturbance by spreading canards about the entire issue and alleged that a political conspiracy is behind the entire episode.
