NALBARI, Dec 6 - Altogether 300 soil health cards were distributed among farmers on the occasion of World Soil Day at Nalbari Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) on Wednesday.
On the occasion, a meeting was held which was conducted by Dr Manasi Chakravarty, a scientist of the KVK.
Distributing the soil health cards, Nalbari Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury called upon the people to protect soil and stressed on creating awareness about soil conservation.
Choudhury requested the people to avail benefits of the government-sponsored schemes.
Addressing the meeting, Nitul Deka, chairman of Nalbari Zilla Parishad, said that people should come forward to solve the problems related to soil for a better future. He assured all possible help to the farmers of the district.
The meeting was also addressed by Dr Mridul Deka and Hemanta Kalita, among others.
