Snatcher gang in police net

GUWAHATI, Sept 2 - Police today apprehended a gang of seven snatchers from the Basistha Chariali area here. The gang members have been identified as Abhisek Dey (18), Boloram Brahma (18), Sanjay Singh (18), Joon Ali (32), Ajit Rabha (20), Nantu Dhar (18) and Rahul Choudhury (28).

Assistant Commissioner of Police Nandini Kakati said all those accused persons hail from the Basistha Beltola area of the city and have been carrying out snatching activities for several years.

Police recovered several gold ornaments, 115 mobile handsets, one laptop, one desktop computer, one TV set and more than Rs 20,000 in cash from their possession.
