SILCHAR, March 26 - The Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) has received 10 samples from Mizoram for COVID-19 tests. This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, the vice-principal of SMCH.
�We have received 15 samples (10 samples are from Mizoram) on Thursday that would be tested. As Mizoram has no facilities for testing, we will be conducting the tests of the samples,� Dr Gupta said.
He further informed that the five persons who had recently returned from Mizoram have been tested and found negative for COVID-19. However, they will be kept under home quarantine.
On the other hand, Suman Choudhury, district media expert, National Health Mission, informed that those families are not properly cooperating with the ASHA workers in the ongoing exercise of medical assistance and shall be dealt with strongly as per the Disaster Management Act, 2005 provisions.
