GUWAHATI, Aug 13 - Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit and Rotary Guwahati Luit Trust donated 18 smart phones to Pub Guwahati High School, Jyotinagar on Wednesday for a mobile library, said a press release issued today.
The smart phones were given to deserving students of classes IX and X who were unable to attend online classes during the last five months. The students will return the mobiles for use by students of the next session.
Meanwhile, Rotary Guwahati Luit has lauded film artistes Kopil Bora and Zerifa Wahid for appealing to people in general to donate their used smart phones through social media platforms, which proved a great help in its social venture.
The event was attended by parents, students and members of Rotary Guwahati Luit, the press release further said.
