Smart class introduced at Haflong school

HAFLONG, April 13 � Kulendra Daolagupu, Executive Member in charge of Education, etc, NC Hills Autonomous Council, inaugurated a digital classroom building while Phanindra Jidung, Director of Secondary Education, Assam, inaugurated a digital classroom at the Vivekananda Vidyalaya here on Monday.

A meeting was held in this connection with JN Daolagupu in the chair, where Kulendra Daolagupu and Phanindra Jidung were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

BB Dey, headmaster of the school, felicitated the dignitaries with phoolam gamosa.

The meeting was started with the chanting of Gita shlokas, followed by a welcome song and a solo dance based on Saraswati vandana.

Kulendra Daolagupu, in his speech, appreciated the efforts of the school management as well as its teachers and students to enhance the standard of education in the district by establishing the digital classroom. While assuring all possible help from his end to this school, he stressed the importance of digital education and said that the district Department of Education has also been trying to impart computer training to all the teachers of the district.

Phanindra Jidung, who also hails from this district, expressed satisfaction over the recent developments in the field of education in the district. He hoped that in the education sector, the Dima Hasao district, too, would not be left behind. He appealed to all to make this district at par with not only the rest of the State but also the country as a whole.

R Jeme, a prominent social worker who is closely associated with the school, also lauded the efforts of the teachers and students in the development of this school.

The students also expressed their excitement over the introduction of smart class in the school.
