SILCHAR, Nov 30 - The official date for completion of field verification for the National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) is December 15. But things are moving at a very slow pace in Cachar district.
According to sources, the statement 1 forms needed for the field verifications have reached which will meet the requirements of only three NSKs of the total 160 NSKs in the district. Interestingly, sources said that Rajiv Jha, the district project supervisor has been removed from his role. Sources said that till Jha�s tenure 106 per cent forms were received in the district. As per the statistical update, Cachar stands 26th in all the 27 districts in terms of digitization of the applications forms received at NSKs in the district till November 27. Meanwhile, this sloppy progress has created doubts among the officials regarding the deadlines to wrap the project on time.
