GUWAHATI, Aug 1 - In remembrance of the journalists of the State who were killed by miscreants, the All Assam Journalists� Association will organise a programme to felicitate members of the victims� families on August 9 at Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.
�Over 25 journalists of the State, including veteran journalist Kamala Saikia who was killed on August 9, 1991, lost their lives in the hands of miscreants. Contributions of such journalists must be remembered by the State and society,� stated the Association. �Apart from remembering their contributions, members of the slain journalists� kin will also be felicitated,� it added.
