NONGPOH, July 17 - A three-month long training programme on IIFCL-NSTFDC upgradation and economic empowerment of tribal handloom artisans in Meghalaya concluded today in Nongpoh.
The programme was sponsored by India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), an organisation under Union Ministry of Finance under their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives. The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati, under Union Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship implemented the project. A total of 25 selected women handloom weavers from Umden area took part in the training. Manoj Kr Das, Director, IIE informed that this project has been implemented in all NE States covering 200 women artisans, 25 for each State, a press release said.
