Six NDFB (S) cadres nabbed, arms seized

KOKRAJHAR, Oct 1 - In a breakthrough, a joint team of Army and Kokrajhar police last night during a raid nabbed six hardcore NDFB (S) cadres with a large quantity of arms and ammunition inside the Ripu Reserve Forest near the India-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district, Army sources said.

The arrested cadres were trained in Myanmar and identified as self-styled cultural secretary and deputy finance secretary of 39 batch NDFB (S) Bahaigya Basumatary, Ranjolal Wary Gobla, Rubiram Goyariy, Julesh Mushahary, Sailen Borgoyary and Rajesh Narzary, sources said.

Out of six cadres apprehended, three cadres hail from Kokrajhar district while the other three are from neighbouring Chirang district of BTAD.

Police also recovered one M16 assault rifle, six 7.65 mm pistols, twelve magazines, ammunition, medicines and rations along with several warlike administrative stores from their hideout.
