DIBRUGARH, Nov 26 - Six persons died in a road mishap on NH 37 in Lepetkata in the wee hours today.
The incident occurred around 5:30 am when the Bolero in which the victims were travelling in rammed at the tail end of a stationed trailer truck.
Hem Bora, Madan Bora, Prakash Jyoti Das (driver), Kanpai Bhuyan and Jivak Saikia reportedly died on the spot, while Debo Bora succumbed at the AMCH. Two other severely injured occupants of the Bolero are undergoing treatment at the AMCH.
The victims, who were returning after attending a wedding event at Sisiborgaon in Dhemaji district, hailed from Bhogamur village, while the driver was from Lepetkata.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed his grief over the loss of lives in the mishap. He condoled the death and directed the district administration to ensure all necessary medical assistance to all those injured.
