GUWAHATI, March 16 - Sivasagar boys and Tinsukia girls took home the champions� trophies winning the titles in the 19th Girindra Sarma Memorial Sub Junior Inter District Handball Championship held at Chapar in Dhubri district.
In the finals played at the Birsa Munda Stadium last evening, Sivasagar boys edged past Baksa 24-23 while in the girls title clash, Tinsukia outplayed Baksa 10-3.
In the closing function, Bilasipara MLA Ashok Kumar Singhi, Dhubri DC Ant Lal Gyani, Assam Handball Association president Amal Narayan Patowary, among others were present as guests and gave away the prizes.
