Sivasagar LICI branch numero uno in premium collection

JORHAT, Sept 6 - The Sivasagar branch of LICI under the Jorhat division of the insurance company has been able to achieve number one position among the branches across the country during the last fiscal year (2018-19) in terms of collecting highest premium.

The Jorhat division of LICI comprises 10 upper Assam districts, entire Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, having 20 branch and nine satellite offices within its jurisdiction.

Addressing mediapersons at the Jorhat LICI divisional office here on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the company�s inception, Senior Divisional Manager Prakash Mishra disclosed that the Sivasagar branch fetched the top position among all the branches nationwide in terms of highest premium collection for the fiscal year (2018-19) by collecting Rs 104.22 crore, thereby surpassing the target of Rs 104 crore set by the company.

He informed that the same branch had secured the second position among the branches nationwide in terms of highest premium collection for the fiscal year (2017-18) by collecting Rs 104 crore against the target of Rs 88 crores fixed by the company.

The senior divisional manager stated that the Jorhat division during the last financial year (2018-19) was successful in surpassing the target fixed by the company in earning first premium income (FPI).

Mishra said that the Jorhat division managed to earn Rs 570 crore FPI in 2018-19 fiscal against the company target of Rs 550 crore. He stated that 2.5 lakh policies were sold by the Jorhat division during the 2018-19 fiscal year.

He further said that the division has set a dream target for the current fiscal year (2019-20) of selling 3.5 lakh policies and to collect Rs 800 crores premium. The senior divisional manager added that so far in this fiscal year the division has been able to sell 87,000 policies and collect Rs 215 crore.

Stating that LICI is involved in several social welfare activities in the region under its Corporate Social Responsibility head, Mishra said that the Jorhat divisional office had been annulling donating to educational institutes, organisations involved with social welfare activities and institutes providing care to the tune of about Rs 25 lakh.

HR Manager Mridul Kumar Subedar, Marketing Manager D Goswami, Sales Manager NK Doley were also present on the occasion.
